[Algemeen] Ontwerp verkiezingsprogramma Groenlinks

If PPNL is a serious endeavour, it shoud have an answer why it is needed at all, in addition to Groen Links already supporting PP views. It is never wise to "aim at competition" and to disparage Groen Links, but if the question is asked, there must be a "positioning" answer (preferably building on our own strength rather than a an alleged GL weakness)

The fact that PPNL is forcing parties like GL to take a public stance on this matter is a good thing in my opinion. Because the result is more attention for 'internet rights'. And even vague promises are better then nothing at all :-)
In any case, for the PPNL to keep voters from switching to GL is to emphasize our strong points:
First: GL (and any other party that comes out with pro digital rights stance) is surely prepared to throw away our digital rights in coalition talks since it isn't a main priority and neither related to their ideology. They are also susceptible to lobbying by the industry especially after the elections. Meanwhile the PPNL specifically has these rights as their main and (basically) only priority.
Second: Unlike other parties the PPNL will bring vital expertise (both from within the PPNL and from the association with PPI) on digital rights into the House of Representative. GL and other parties might have a statement on the matter but they won't have the same knowledge and expertise. This means they won't be able to utter the same quality of criticism (when in the opposition) or make balanced and fair laws (when in the coalition).
Of course the PPNL needs a lot more exposure to actually get voters in the first place :P

The good influence of Christian Engstrom on the greens/efa group points out
why pirates are needed.
Even today, people like for example Erik Joseffson ( greens/pirates
coordinator )are putting up a big fight among the greens for waking them
up.
Yesterday, he even asked *me* to help setup a anti ACTA campaign among the
greens, he is lobbying the greens to no avail. The greens are not
interested !
This while PPI is behind stop-acta.info and work on this started way back.
Considering the current work on for example the "internet of things" within
europarl. GL communicating "internet freedom", instead of the bigger
pictures points out that they lack vision and strategy for the future.Or
have a different set of priorities. Reinier is right. Gl is being a
populist right now.
Especially considering that MEP Sargentini is mobilising and preparing a
assault on the dutch Pirate Party.
The dutch pirate party is not picking friends or foes.
We are targeting our objectives, and preparing to retaliate when under
attack by other political parties.
We are not a standard "political party" per se. We exploit the system.
If we want to obliterate GL, what we do not want.
We do have 100% support from the .SE MEP's
Let me quote Christian Engstrom: "Go kill them" - "Everything for the
votes, this is election time and everybody understands this."
